Mechanical Design EngineerPermanent position33 Days Total Holiday + Competitive Pension SchemeFlexible working - including working from home£40-£50k per annum DOEYearly personal development budgetDog friendly office (current office includes gym and bar)Cycle to work schemePotential for International TravelBorough (SE1)An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer who is looking for a good balance between work and home life that will be involved in the full life cycle design, development, and manufacture for a clean technology company.Main Responsibilities & duties as a Mechanical Design Engineer:
  • Complete concept & detailed design and resolve any existing mechanical design items of our client's technology, using CAD & CAE,
  • Work closely with the whole team, as well as liaising with suppliers, third party design engineers and manufacturers to deliver the technology.
  • Constant support for the production engineering function to overcome day-to-day product changes and quality issues.
  • General engineering administrative tasks and development of scope of work for third party engineering consultants.
  • Source suitable materials and components for bespoke product development.
  • Help identify areas of improvement, new systems, processes, and suppliers to drive quality, efficiency, and to save costs.
  • Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.
  • Support for all mechanical design functions of the R&D facility.
  • Continuation of the design process to liaise with third parties during the detailed design and manufacture of the technology.
Essential Criteria as a Mechanical Design Engineer:
  • Degree in Engineering/Science or similar disciplines
  • Strong 3D CAD experience - ideally SOLIDWORKS
  • Have previously worked on process equipment, machinery, furnaces etc
  • 3YEARS+ experience ideally, 5 years plus
  • Experience with the Full life cycle design of a product
Desirable Skills:
  • Design of high temperature systems
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Confidence in challenging the current situation and putting fresh ideas forward
