Leader in Training (Guest Services and Rooms - Full Time)

Basic Job Function:

Responsible for learning the operation of the various positions within the Rooms and Guest Services operations at Sea Island. Train in operations to learn how to ensure guest satisfaction, team member morale, proper execution of policies and procedures, and compliance to all state and local laws regarding hotel management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completed course work in accredited hospitality degree program
  • Experience and/or strong knowledge of operations preferred
  • Experience in developing a training curriculum for a luxury hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership ability, sound judgment, superior problem-solving and decision-making skills with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Strong guest and team member relations skills
  • Ability to receive and discreetly respond to sensitive and confidential employee information
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to multi-task and able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Proven record of accomplishment of being energetic, forward thinking, creative and able to challenge the status quo while providing highly effective training solutions to business needs.
  • Highly proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must possess aptitude for learning and utilizing software applications pertinent to the functions of this job
  • Ability to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changes
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays

  • Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Rotate through all area of operations learning the various components necessary to manage any divisional operation.
  • Train and work in all line level positions.
  • Responsible for learning the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Monitor and get involved with the proper execution of all policies and procedures
  • Participate and encourage the development of fellow leaders and new team members during tenure ship in a department.
  • Ensure that all areas conform to the discipline management practices regarding the scheduling of team members, distribution/storage of products, and the collection of revenues.
  • Complete assignments and projects as assigned with guidance of coach, in a timely fashion.
  • Attend all training activities required of hotel leaders.
  • Write and present key learning's from each area to Leadership Committee members prior to rotating to next area in rotation.
  • Supervise and run shifts as needed in the various hotel departments.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's ability
  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to type and/or enter data on a keyboard at least 45 wpm for extended periods of time
  • Maintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
