Basic Job Function:
To safely operate a variety of power driven and hand held golf course maintenance equipment. To assist spray technician in chemical and fertilizer applications. To aid irrigation technician in repairs and installation as well as general irrigation. To meet or exceed golf course grooming standards established by management. To provide for our members and guests a world class golfing experience.
Use of Company Vehicle: Not designated to drive a company vehicle
Minimum (2) years experience
High School Diploma or equivalent credentials
Turf degree preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of safe, efficient operation of golf maintenance machinery
Must be certified on skid-steer or other loading equipment
Must have valid Georgia Drivers license, or must be able to get a valid Georgia Drivers license by date of hire

Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
Must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 100 lbs intermittently throughout a shift
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards
No visible tattoos, visible body piercing or unnatural hair color or hairstyles per company grooming standards
Must be able to train Greensperson Levels 1, 2, and 3 as required.
Mow greens, tees, fairways, chipping swales and roughs as required.
Fly mow bunker complexes, lake banks and other designated areas as directed by supervision.
Operate stick-edgers, weed eaters, back-pack blowers, and other small equipment as directed by supervision.
Must be able to operate golf carts, tractors, top-dressers, blowers, sweepers, acetifiers and skid steer as directed by supervision.
Perform course set-up as directed by supervision.
Thoroughly inspects machinery for proper operation prior to and after use insuring that all trash, dirt, clippings, etc. are removed. Report any malfunction to supervisor/mechanic as soon as possible.
Ensure all equipment used is full of fuel and other necessary fluids prior to and after use.
Assist irrigation technician or spray technician when directed by supervision.
Must be able to read and understand chemical and fertilizer labels with regard to proper application rates and safety requirements.
Must be familiar with calibration of chemical and fertilizer equipment.
Report and understand any damage to golf course or equipment to supervisor as soon as possible.
Wear appropriate safety gear for each task as directed by supervision.
Must be flexible to perform duties outside of job requirements when necessary.
Keep maintenance shop area and area surrounding maintenance building clean and orderly, including fertilizer and chemical rooms, breakroom, bathrooms, tool room, and shop floor as directed by supervision.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's ability
If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
