We have an exciting opportunity to join the Financial Controls and Data Team. This team plays a vital role at the centre of our department and sits within Systems and Processes which is part of the Group Controller Directorate. You will join a welcoming and accomplished team whose remit spreads across HMRC and will be working in a fast-paced environment, building relationships, and providing efficient, effective input and support to the Data team. This will involve liaising with internal colleagues, stakeholders and potentially the senior leadership team. Job description What will you be doing in this role? You will contribute to a range of secretariat duties for a variety of working groups and some of your responsibilities will include: Produce monthly reports to show the Data team s performance against our goals. Provide general and IT support to the Team, supporting them to work in an enhanced digital way and deliver results. Maintain a forward look for the team, making sure that team members are aware of deadlines. Support the team to ensure the deadlines are met. Ensure continuous improvement of processes and Management Information inputting innovative ideas to help drive forward the team performance. Support the team in the delivery of: Transformation of Finance data management in line with HMRC strategic data vision. Data Protection/GDPR assurance including risk management. Information Records Management including assurance of Information Assets. Improvements to finance data management. Responsibilities You will do this by: Being a highly motivated self-starter with experience of working in a fast-paced environment. You will pro-actively manage your own workload and responsibilities to deliver effective outcomes. Collaborating with others, both within the team and across HMRC at a variety of grades, influencing stakeholders to obtain updates and reviewing and challenging information where appropriate. Being an effective verbal and written communicator, tailoring your communications to fit the audience and being able to construct succinct and clear papers. Taking pride in your work and seek to continually improve team processes. The role will involve some travel with occasional overnight stays. Essential criteria: An ability to communicate using appropriate styles, to maximise understanding and impact. Experience of operating flexibly and working at pace, planning and prioritising to meet tight deadlines. Excellent writing skills, including high attention to detail. Experience of developing close working relationships with stakeholders. Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and also have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. Desirable Criteria: Experience of working collaboratively across grades and business areas. A data background with some experience in GDPR and risk analysis. Experience of working in a geographically dispersed team.
