A permanent opportunity for a Buyer. Your new companyA large international organisation based in Swindon. Your new role

  • Develop category strategies that are appropriate to deliver best value and high levels of service to the organisation in the UK and internationally.
  • Generate transparency and overview on spend and savings potential within category, supplier landscape, supplier performance and current trends
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to drive effective customer relations.
  • Liaise with business to develop and confirm category demand plans
  • Manage and govern execution of sourcing processes within the category
  • Work internationally to ensure we leverage common group spend
  • Support the Business through periods of "Outage" ensuring all material demands are delivered on time.
  • Conduct contract / material reviews as requested with the business to ensure contract continuity and workload planning for Procurement and the Technical Officers
  • Manage your SAP Buying queue to ensure all materials are procured in a timely manner
  • Prepare strategies to automate your material buying
  • Develop long term supplier relationships to ensure supply chain stability

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in a similar role will be the key to your success
  • A proven ability to develop contractual agreements for" supply" and "supply and installation".
  • Possess the skills and ability to apply leading-edge techniques in areas such as the use of international supply chains, value engineering techniques, and the combination of demand, supply and process "levers" to optimise external spend.
  • Proven capability / skills in complex negotiations and deal closing
  • Ability to influence and manage across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Will be highly motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills; candidates should be capable of operating to tight timescales with the minimum of guidance and be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Experience working at a professional/expert level within a large company structure and dealing successfully with major vendors (such as Global OEM's)
  • Expert understanding of goods supply markets including cost and value drivers in the supply chain within Category
  • Experience in SAP an advantage
  • The candidate must be fully committed and flexible to meet the business requirements
