This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated, professional, motivated, forward thinking, focused Police operational department.
You will provide financial and budgetary support and analytical review against the overall Police and Police Staff revenue budget for Kent Police.
Ensuring monitoring, forecasting and budget build activities are completed effectively and then monitored on an ongoing basis.
You will work closely with HR, the Continuous Improvement Team, and colleagues elsewhere in Finance to ensure consistency and efficiency in the delivery of a variety of financial information across the Force.
You will track and monitor forecast changes across both Police and Police Staff pay and non pay items of expenditure, providing an update of changes at any point in time. As well as be able to identify and provide relevant KPI's to support strategic decisions.
This is an excellent opportunity to ensure best practice efficiencies are delivered across the Force. The customer profile is diverse and therefore relationship management is important.
Applicants should demonstrate their skills and experience in the following areas:
Minimum of 3 years' experience of practical finance skills and knowledge
Technical competencies:
Finance - Budget Preparation
Finance - Management Costing
Operational support to aid decision making
Behavioural competencies:
Collaborative - managing relationships & partnerships
The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home for those who would like to. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend a designated Team Zone' location on average one or two days a month, as agreed with the line manager.
